
New Delhi: NITI Aayog has released the fourth edition of the State Health Index. According to which the condition of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is the worst. Whereas Kerala and Tamil Nadu are at the first and second positions respectively.
According to the NITI Aayog report, Kerala ranks first on health parameters. Tamil Nadu and Telangana are in second and third place. The commission’s report states that Uttar Pradesh has achieved the highest position in terms of betterment. Uttar Pradesh has registered the most significant improvement from the base year (2018-19) to the reference year (2019-20).
According to NITI Aayog, four rounds of survey have been done for the health index and on this basis, marks have been given. In all those four rounds, Kerala has been in the first position. Significantly, Andhra Pradesh has made a significant improvement in health standards from eighth to sixth place.
At the same time, Maharashtra has also improved its position this time. He has also climbed three places to reach third place. On the other hand, the condition of Punjab has become worse, this state has come down three places. There has also been a decline in the health index ranking of Karnataka and Haryana. So Rajasthan has moved up four places to 11th place from 15th. Karnataka Tamil Nadu has moved up from 3rd to 9th position.

On the other hand, Mizoram topped the list of smaller states, while Delhi and Jammu, and Kashmir ranked lowest on all parameters in the health sector among the Union Territories and topped in growth performance. Prepared by the Ministry with technical assistance from the World Bank.
