Ujjain: Now the name of Mullapura of Ujjain has also been changed. Its new name will be Murlipura. This is the same area that falls in the Simhastha region of Ujjain. The demand to change its name was being made for a long time. Today, on the last day of Pt Pradeep Mishra’s Katha, it was announced to rename Mullapura as Murlipura in the presence of ministers of the Madhya Pradesh government.
There was a continuous demand to change the name of Mullapura in the Simhastha Mela area located on Badnagar Road, Ujjain. The Katha of Pandit Pradeep Mishra was also taking place near Mullapura, Badnagar Road. Today was the last day of Pradeep Mishra’s Katha. During the closing, the name of Mullapur was changed to Murlipura in the presence of Pradeep Mishra, Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, former minister Paras Jain, and Mayor Mukesh Tatwal. The first plaque with this name was inaugurated by Pandit Mishra from the stage. This is a new change amidst the ongoing politics of name change in BJP-ruled states across the country.
8 places will be renamed
Mayor Mukesh Tatwal said that in the general meeting of Municipal Corporation Ujjain in the month of February, the name change of eight places was approved. In this, it was decided to rename Mullapura as Murlipura. With this, Kutta Bawdi will be called as Lakha Banjara Bawdi and Maili Gali Swarna Gali. The plaque was inaugurated by Pandit Mishra on Monday. It will be installed in ward number 12. The new name plaque was inaugurated in the presence of sages, saints, and people’s representatives in the chief hospitality of storyteller Pandit Pradeep Mishra.
Fatehabad Railway Station
After 8 places in the city, Ujjain MP Anil Firoziya has demanded to change the name of Ujjain’s Fatiabad railway station as well. The politics of name change in the country started in Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi Adityanath had changed the names of many places since then the tradition of changing the name started. Since then, the names of many places in Madhya Pradesh including Habibganj railway station of Bhopal have been changed.
