Barabanki: A tragic incident occurred in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, when a three-story building collapsed late at night, killing two people and trapping several others under the rubble. The building belonged to Hashim, who lived there with his family and some tenants. The collapse happened around 3 a.m. when most of the residents were asleep. The neighbors reported hearing a loud noise like an explosion and rushed to the scene.
The police, fire brigade, and administration officials reached the spot soon after receiving the information and started the rescue operation. They managed to pull out 12 people from the debris and took them to the district hospital. However, two of them, a man and a woman, succumbed to their injuries. The officials said that they were still looking for 3-4 more people who were feared to be trapped under the rubble. They also said that the SDRF team was present and the NDRF team would join them shortly.
The cause of the collapse is not yet clear. The neighbors said that the building was constructed a few years ago and did not look dilapidated. The police are investigating the matter and trying to find out if there was any negligence or violation of building norms involved in the incident.
