Jammu: Late on Friday evening, terrorists targeted army vehicles in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces retaliated and opened fire on the terrorists. The army has cordoned off the area and started a search operation. According to a defense spokesperson, details of the incident are being ascertained.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the firing was aimed at a convoy of security forces vehicles in the Krishna Ghati sector. However, there is no information about any casualties of army personnel in this incident.
This is the second terrorist attack in Poonch area in three weeks. Earlier, terrorists had opened fire targeting two army vehicles on Dera Street in Rajouri. Four soldiers were martyred and five were injured in that incident.
