Chandigarh: In a significant turn of events, the political landscape of Haryana has witnessed a major shift with the resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Following a pivotal meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party, Khattar stepped down, paving the way for the appointment of a new leader to helm the state. Emerging from the discussions, Nayab Singh Saini has been confirmed as the successor and will take on the role of Haryana’s Chief Minister.

The race for the chief ministership saw several prominent names being considered, including Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia, State Home Minister Anil Vij, and the eventual appointee, Nayab Singh Saini. Saini, who has recently been serving as the state president of the Haryana BJP, is a respected figure within the OBC community and represents the Kurukshetra constituency as an MP.

Saini’s political journey is marked by a series of significant roles within the BJP organization. His career began as an associate in the Haryana BJP, where he served as the State General Secretary from 1996 to 2000. His leadership qualities were further recognized in 2002 when he was appointed the District General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha BJP in Ambala. His ascent continued as he became the District President of the Yuva Morcha BJP in Ambala in 2005.

Further demonstrating his commitment to the party and its values, Saini held the position of State General Secretary of the BJP Kisan Morcha Haryana in 2009. His political acumen led to his appointment as the District President of Ambala in 2012. The subsequent years saw his political career flourish as he was elected as an MLA from the Narayan Garh Assembly in 2014 and later served as the Minister of State in the Haryana Government in 2016.

The crowning achievement of his political journey came in 2019 when he was elected as the MP for Kurukshetra, securing the trust and support of his constituents. Recognizing his leadership and dedication, the central leadership of the BJP appointed him as the state president in Haryana, a role he has been fulfilling with distinction.
