Mumbai: Isn’t everything going well in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, one of the country’s most popular comedy shows. This question has come up after Neha Mehta, who plays Anjali Bhabhi (Anjali Tarak Mehta), left the show. The leader Mehta did not say clearly but gave indications that the atmosphere on the set of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not good. Neha said, ‘Yes, there were some issues on the set, but I believe that sometimes a lot can be said by remaining silent.
Neha Mehta, I think I need to move forward. I have been receiving offers from other platforms such as movies and web series. Also, when you become part of a project for such a long time, you move into a comfortable zone and don’t think of any other opportunities. Over the years, I got some interesting offers, but I let them go because I felt that this show was my family.
When Neha Mehta was asked about the financial reasons, she said, “I would not like to comment on this, but I feel that in many cases there is no longer discipline and grace on the sets of aarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah”. I felt that it is important that I should exit the show without any trouble. But, this does not mean that I have no respect for the show or the production house. I have wanted to leave it for some time now and it is a great brand and as our producer (Asit Kumar Modi) says, the show should go ahead.
Asked about the comeback on the occasion, Neha said, “It has been a long journey of 12 years.” I have great respect for Asit Modi sir and if he calls me back, I might consider going back to the show.
