Announcing this historic agreement between the Indian Music Industry, the apex body representing music labels in India, and the Indian Singers Rights Association, the apex body representing singers, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said- “In the year 2012 This amendment was made on the initiative of Javed Akhtar. I felt very sad for those singers who gifted beautiful songs to this country with their melodious voices, but they were not getting their due. I ordered the concerned officers to settle the matter. I am happy that such a big decision has been taken in the interest of singers.

All singers will get royalty
According to Piyush Goyal, under this agreement, all the registered singers will now get a royalty for the songs they have sung for any musical label in India. All singers, new and old, will get the full benefit of this agreement. In which the amount of royalty will also be increased.
