Washington: A new study has revealed that the monsoon low-pressure system is expected to decrease this year, which may cause a significant decrease in rainfall in north-central India. This has been revealed in a study by a US research agency. This study of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is published on Friday.

It predicts a significant decrease in the ‘Monsoon Low-Pressure Mechanism’ (MLPS) in the South Asian monsoon region. NOAA stated that MLPS is a factor of rainfall in the Indian subcontinent and any change in it, whether natural or man-made, has far-reaching socioeconomic effects. The study predicts a decrease in rainfall in north-central India.
