Victims and Rescue Operations
The aircraft was carrying a total of eight passengers and two crew members when it went down. Rescue teams have recovered seven bodies from the crash site, but officials caution that the final death toll cannot be confirmed until the search operation is complete. The search for the three remaining occupants continues as emergency services comb through the wreckage.
Fire brigades, police, and emergency services remain on the scene, working to control the situation and search for any additional victims. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by aviation authorities, who are examining why the pilot attempted the emergency landing and what led to the crash.
Previous Aviation Incident
This tragedy follows another fatal plane crash earlier in June near the Guatemalan border in southern Mexico. That accident killed two Guatemalan pilots and a Mexican agricultural scientist who were on board a small aircraft being used for a plan to combat larval infestation. The plane went down near the Tapachula region while releasing screwworm flies when it suddenly became unstable and crashed.
