Mob sets minister Union Minister RK Ranjan Singh house on fire

Manipur: violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur has been going on for the last 42 days. 107 people have died in this, and 310 are injured. Not only this, temples-churches, and schools-villages are all being burnt here and there, and 60,000 people are currently forced to leave their homes and live in camps.

At the same time, according to the news received in the midst of all this, on Thursday night, a mob set fire to the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs RK Ranjan Singh at Kongba in Imphal. Although Ranjan Singh was not at his home at the time of the incident.

The incident took place in the Konga Nandibam Lekai area around 10 pm. Firefighters and security forces rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The house and some parked vehicles were damaged. It is a matter of relief that no one was injured in this incident.

Giving information on the incident, Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh told ANI that, I am currently in Kerala for official work. Thankfully no one was injured at my Imphal home last night. The miscreants had brought petrol bombs and the ground floor and first floor of my house have been damaged.

He further said that it is very sad to see what is happening in my home state. I will continue to appeal for peace. People indulging in such violence are inhuman.

Let us tell you that on June 14, a Meitei mob allegedly set fire to the house of Manipur minister Nemcha Kipgen at Lamphel in Imphal West. Kipgen is among the 10 Kuki MLAs who demanded a separate administration.
