Mumbai: The makers of Ponniyin Selvan on Tuesday announced the release of the sequel to the Mani Ratnam film. The film will release worldwide in IMAX theaters on April 28, 2023. Announcing this, the makers of the film said, “The Cholas are back to create magic on the silver screen.” Aishwarya Rai will again be seen in a special role in this film. In the first film, the actress played the lead role.
Ponniyin Selvan-I was a mega-hit in the theaters amid the low success rate of other films at the box office last year. Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus PS-1 received a positive response from the audience and critics alike. After a few months of release, the makers have now announced the release of the sequel of the film. PS2 was earlier shot alongside the film PS1 but the film will release on April 28 this year. While announcing the second part, the makers have also revealed the release date of the film.
On Tuesday, the makers of the film shared a poster on social media making the announcement and revealing the release date. The film based on Kalki’s novel can be experienced across all its IMAX theaters on 28th April. Mani Ratnam is back with an epic second chapter of PS-1 starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Vikram, and Jayam Ravi Playing lead roles. The sequel to the biggest Tamil film of 2022 will be launched in IMAX theaters across India. PS2 will continue the story of King Chola, the Chola Emperor, who was the most powerful king in the South during his time.
