Mumbai: The Uddhav Thackeray Goverment of Maharashtra has ordered its employees not to wear jeans and t-shirts to the office. The government has said that Permanent and Contractual Employees should not wear jeans-T-shirts to the Secretariat and government offices. Employees have been ordered to wear formal clothes to look professional.
Many states have already issued such orders
It is worth noting that even before this, there have been reports of orders from different states not to wear jeans and t-shirts. In 2018, the Rajasthan government also issued a similar order. In the notification issued by the Commissioner of Labor Department, it was said that do not wear jeans and t-shirt in the office.
Such orders have been issued in UP, Himachal, Jharkhand
Earlier, such orders have also been given in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. In 2012, the Akhilesh government of UP also ordered government employees to come to the office informal clothes. In Himachal Pradesh, this order was also opposed by the Employees Confederation.
