New Delhi: Madhavi Raje Scindia, the mother of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and a prominent member of the Gwalior royal family, passed away after a prolonged illness. She was 76. Madhavi Raje had been receiving medical care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for the past three months, where she was being treated for pneumonia and sepsis. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, she succumbed to her ailments and was declared deceased at 9:28 am on May 15, 2024.
Madhavi Raje’s health had been critical over the last two weeks, and she was on a ventilator during this time. Her passing has sent ripples of sorrow across political and social circles, from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh, as she was a revered figure in the region.
The Gwalior royal family has begun preparations for her funeral, which is scheduled to take place on May 16, between 4 to 5 pm, at the family’s Chhatri at Katora Tal in Gwalior.
