New Delhi: The German airline Lufthansa has removed 103 flight attendants placed in India on demand for a job guarantee. According to sources, the company gave him the option of going on leave without pay for two years.
Company cannot extend service to air hostess
Sources said that these workers were working on a fixed contract with the airline and some of them were with the company for more than 15 years. A Lufthansa spokesman said that due to the severe financial impact of the Coronavirus epidemic, there is no other option but to restructure the airline. The company cannot extend service to Delhi-based air hostesses who are on fixed-term contracts.
No option but restructuring
However, the spokesperson did not say how many employees have been fired. According to the spokesperson, the services of many employees have not been affected because the company has been able to enter into separate agreements with them.
“Lufthansa is sad to confirm that she is not extending the services of Delhi-based air hostesses, who were hired for a fixed period,” the statement said. The severe financial impact of the Corona virus epidemic has left Lufthansa no choice but to restructure the airline. These measures include important measures related to employees in important international markets like India as well as in Germany and Europe.
Number of aircraft cut
The company said that it would have to cut the number of aircraft by 150 in long-term plans by 2025, given the current situation. This will also affect the number of cabin crew personnel. Apart from all this, the staff of cabin crew has not left much work due to the restrictions imposed by the governments of different countries on international travel.
