Redmi and MI are all related to the same company, Xiaomi Corporation, but they have different product lines and target markets. Here are some of the main differences between them:

  • Xiaomi: Xiaomi is the flagship brand that offers premium smartphones with high-end features and design. Xiaomi phones have top-of-the-line processors, cameras, displays, batteries, and software. They also have a premium design with Gorilla Glass, metal frames, and slim bezels. Xiaomi phones are usually priced above Rs. 20,000 and compete with brands like OnePlus, Samsung, and Apple. Some examples of Xiaomi phones are the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, the Mi 11X Pro, and the Mi 11 Ultra.
  • Redmi: Redmi is a budget brand that offers affordable smartphones with decent performance and quality. Redmi phones have budget or midrange processors, cameras, displays, batteries, and software. They also have a budget or midrange design with plastic or metal bodies, thicker bezels, and no glass protection. Redmi phones are usually priced below Rs. 20,000 and cater to the mass market segment. Some examples of Redmi phones are the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, the Redmi 9 Power, and the Redmi 10 Prime.
  • MI: MI is not a separate brand, but a part of Xiaomi’s branding strategy. It was used as a prefix for Xiaomi’s products before September 2021. For example, the Mi 11 series in India. However, in September 2021, Xiaomi announced that it will drop the MI branding and use only Xiaomi for its products. This means that there will be no more MI phones in the future, only Xiaomi phones.
