Mumbai: In a shocking and tragic incident, three fans of Kannada superstar Yash lost their lives while trying to install a giant cutout poster of the actor on the eve of his 38th birthday. The fans were electrocuted when the metal frame of the poster came in contact with a live wire. Three other fans were critically injured and rushed to the hospital.
The incident cast a pall of gloom over the entire South Indian film industry, which expressed its condolences and solidarity with the victims’ families. Yash, who is best known for his role as Rocky in the blockbuster KGF franchise, was deeply saddened and disturbed by the news. He immediately canceled all his birthday celebrations and flew to Mumbai to meet the bereaved families and the injured fans.
A video of Yash’s visit to the colony where the accident took place has gone viral on social media. The actor can be seen entering each house of the deceased fans and offering his heartfelt condolences and support. He also hugged and comforted the family members, who were inconsolable. Despite the somber mood, a large crowd of fans gathered outside the colony to catch a glimpse of their favorite star. The police had to provide security to Yash to ensure his safety.
Yash also visited the hospital where the injured fans were undergoing treatment. He enquired about their health and wished them a speedy recovery. He also assured them of his assistance in bearing the medical expenses.
Yash also stated his fans, urging them to refrain from any risky activities to celebrate his birthday. He said, “Such tragic incidents make me afraid of my birthday. I request all of you to please not put up any banners, do any bike chasing, or take dangerous selfies. I love you all and I don’t want to lose any of you. Please value your life and be safe.”
Yash was last seen in the superhit film ‘KGF Chapter 2’, which was released in January 2023 and broke several box office records. The film was a sequel to the 2018 film ‘KGF Chapter 1’, which also became a pan-India sensation. Both the films were directed by Prashanth Neel and featured Yash as a rebellious and ruthless gangster who rises from the streets of Mumbai to the gold mines of Kolar. The fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the third part of the KGF saga, which is expected to be bigger and better than the previous ones.
