Health Department’s Preparations for Chardham Yatra
In preparation for the upcoming Chardham Yatra, the Uttarakhand Health Department is taking extensive measures to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage. New hospitals will be operational in Badrinath and Kedarnath before the Yatra’s commencement. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has confirmed that the cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has approved the procurement of necessary medical equipment for these facilities.

Medical Teams and Services
To provide immediate healthcare to pilgrims, experienced medical teams, trained for the Yatra’s specific demands, will be stationed along the route. Dr. Kumar urges pilgrims to undergo medical testing before embarking on their journey.

Inter-Departmental Coordination
A significant meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Radha Raturi focused on enhancing inter-departmental coordination for the Yatra. Dr. Kumar emphasized the collaborative effort, stating, “Everyone will work as a team.”

Deployment of Medical Personnel
Approximately 150 medical professionals will be deployed across Chardham, equipped with high-altitude training. These teams will serve in rotations, with doctors assigned for 15-day periods.

Regional Staffing Changes
This year, local doctors from Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi will not serve in Chardham. Instead, medical staff from Kumaon and other districts will be mobilized.
