Bengaluru: The Karnataka state government has decided to impose statewide lockdown on every Sunday to contain the pandemic. The decision was taken at the high-level meeting headed by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today.
This measure will start on July 5th. In another decision, all the non-essential Government offices will remain shut on Saturdays and Sundays starting from July 10th. In addition, night curfew has been extended from 8.00 pm to 5.00 am. Earlier curfew was imposed from 9.00 pm to 5.00 am. It was also decided to increase ambulance services, make public the information related to bed availability, and also the phone numbers of all nodal officers involved in COVID containment measures.
