Mumbai: The trial in the Bombay High Court in the case of demolition in Kangana Ranaut’s office at Pali Hill has been deferred till 22 September. The High Court has given time to both parties to present the documents in this case. The court has asked Kangana Ranaut to submit the documents by 14 September. The court has asked the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to file its reply by 18 September. Kangana Ranaut reached her office with sister Rangoli after the hearing of her case in the High Court was postponed. Kangana Ranaut inspected the office for about 10 minutes and then returned home.
The Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) on Wednesday vandalized the office of Kangana Ranaut after which Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui approached the Bombay High Court. Kangana challenged the action of BMC, on which the court had stayed the action of BMC. No new construction will be done in the office till 22 September.
Kangana’s lawyer Siddiqui described the BMC’s action as unlawful, malicious and in violation of the principles of justice. The High Court directed the BMC to present its reply to Kangana’s petition challenging the demolition order on 9 September. BMC has issued a show cause notice regarding illegal construction on the bungalow of fashion designer Manish Malhotra. He was given 7 days time to reply, Kangana on the other hand was given only 24 hours.
According to media reports, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has summoned the reply of the Chief Minister’s advisor in this matter. They can send the report of this action to the center.
It is believed that Kangana Ranaut can reach her office on Thursday to take stock of the vandalism. However, no official statement has been released yet. Kangana reached Mumbai from Chandigarh on Wednesday. Meanwhile, BMC ransacked his office. Kangana had targeted the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray through tweets during this period.
