Janet Yellen becomes America’s first woman finance minister

Washington: Eminent economist Janet Yellen took over as America’s First Woman Finance Minister on Tuesday. In this way, Yellen became the first woman finance minister in US history. Yellen was sworn in by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Yellen (74) has previously been the governor of the US Federal Reserve. On Monday, the Senate approved Yenette’s nomination as Finance Minister by 84 votes against 15. Yellen became the third member of the cabinet of America’s 46th President Joe Biden, whose appointment has received Senate approval.
