New Delhi: In a groundbreaking move, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and CoRover, has launched a Convenience Voice Payment Service for UPI at the Global Fintech Fest 2024. This innovative service allows passengers to book and pay for train tickets using voice commands, making the process more seamless and user-friendly.
New Features and AI Integration
Indian Railways has introduced several new features alongside this payment gateway. The AI Visual Assistant, ASKDISHA, will now facilitate voice payments. Passengers can simply speak their UPI ID or mobile number during the call to complete the transaction. This AI-driven service ensures that customers can make payments by voice, enhancing the overall booking experience.
How to Book Tickets Using Voice Commands
To book tickets and make payments using voice commands, passengers need to call from their registered mobile number. The voice payment system will automatically detect the UPI ID linked to that number and initiate a payment request through the user’s default UPI app. This feature also allows users to update their mobile number or UPI ID within the transaction time limit, ensuring a flexible and easy payment experience.
Breaking Language Barriers
The new system not only simplifies payments but also removes language barriers, making the transaction process smoother for users across different linguistic backgrounds. By integrating UPI and BharatGPT with ASKDISHA, IRCTC has made it possible for users to book tickets and make payments using voice commands in multiple languages, including Hindi and Gujarati.
A Seamless and Fast Booking Experience
With this new voice payment option, users can now enjoy a faster and more efficient booking process. The AI visual assistant ASKDISHA, powered by CoRover’s BharatGPT, ensures that the entire process is intuitive and user-friendly. This marks a significant milestone in the evolution of AI-driven digital payments, offering a more human-centric approach to booking train tickets.
The introduction of voice payments for train ticket bookings by IRCTC, NPCI, and CoRover is set to revolutionize the way passengers interact with the railway system. By leveraging advanced AI technology, this service promises to make the booking and payment process easier, faster, and more accessible to everyone.
