Berlin: The United Nations’ Nuclear Monitoring Agency reported on Wednesday that their inspectors have confirmed Iran’s production of uranium metal, another violation of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told member states that their inspectors confirmed on February 8 that 3.6 grams of uranium metal had been produced at the Isfahan plant in Iran. Uranium metal can also be used to make atomic bombs, and research on its production is specifically prohibited under the nuclear agreement. Tehran has violated the deal several times since the US split from the nuclear deal in 2018.
