Mumbai: A Delhi-based rapper has alleged that this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) anthem ‘Aayenge Hum Back’ has been stolen from a song he composed. However, the recently released IPL anthem songwriters have denied the allegation.
Rapper Krishna Kaul claims that the IPL song has been taken from his song “Dekh Kaun Aaya Baag” but lyricist Pranav Ajayrao Malpe said that it is his original creation and in this regard, he has the music composer association of India (MCAI) certificate.
Kaul told that independent hip hop music company ‘Kalamkar’ and his team would take a legal stand against the Disney Hotstar who performed the IPL song. Kaul said, “Disney Hotstar has no choice but to go through the legal process and our company will fight against this theft.”
Malpe said that four members of the MCAI jury tested both songs separately and found no similarities. Malpe told PTI-Language, “MCAI is a prestigious institution and the members of the jury are very experienced. I think we should welcome their decision and not give up on this controversy. ”
