New Delhi: The ‘Priority’ and ‘Super Priority’ visas have been introduced in the UK. Now students of 50 top foreign universities including India will also be able to apply for this. The meeting with ministers from the UK and India has shown a new hope that in the times to come, the best and brightest graduates from all over the world will be attracted to their careers. For Priority Visa service, 500 pounds (47 thousand rupees) will have to be paid. While a fee of 800 pounds (75 thousand rupees) has been kept for the super-priority visa.

According to the report of ‘Times of India’, British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis announced this on Tuesday. He said that the United Kingdom has now made available priority and super priority visas for Indian students. In an update for Indian students traveling to the UK for the upcoming academic session, Ellis said, “It was in high demand. We advise you to apply for your visa at the earliest with the required documents.”

He said on Twitter, “If you want, you can apply for a priority visa. You get this with a turnaround of about five days. Or even sooner, a super priority visa, which can be obtained in two days. The British High Commissioner said, ‘Currently the United Kingdom is settling visa requests in about 15 days. Indian students are talented. If you want to come to the UK, apply now. Get the documentation properly.’

According to the UK government website, these decisions are to secure the visa process. Priority Visa ensures visa in five working days. At the same time, under the ‘Super Priority’ service, the decision can be announced by the end of the next working day.

The website further states that the applications submitted on the last working day of the week or the last working day immediately preceding the public holiday will be available for collection at the end of the next working day. Please note that the ‘Super Priority’ service is optional and includes fees in addition to the visa fee.

The latest UK Immigration Statistics data released earlier this month showed an 89 percent increase in student visas granted to Indians over the previous year. The data showed that the UK has overtaken China as the largest nationality with 1.18 lakh visas in the year ending June 2022. Meanwhile a high probability of delay and rejection has been reported especially from the US and Canada.
