Washington: Micro Blogging Site Twitter (Twitter) on Thursday announced a change in the rules of hacked content late at night. He took this step in view of the protest against the unconfirmed political news as right-wing is terming it as censorship.

Vijaya Gadde, the company’s head of law, policy, trust and security affairs, said on Twitter that the social media company will no longer remove hacked content unless it is shared directly by hackers or those who work with them. Gadde said that instead of obstructing the option to share the link, the tweet would be labeled to indicate the context.

“We want to address concerns that may have unintended consequences for journalists, busters and others, which is contrary to Twitter’s purpose of communicating publicly,” he said.

Notably, Twitter and Facebook this week immediately blocked the dissemination of a Republican pro-New York Post news quoting an unproven e-mail from the son of Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden. The news was published and was reportedly traced by a close aide of President Donald Trump. This news was not confirmed by other publishers.

Twitter initially prohibited users from sharing the link to the article because it violated the company’s hacked content policy, but several hours later did not explain why users could not share the link.
