Beijing: Xinjiang of China is one of the new provinces where a lockdown has been imposed due to COVID-19. Once again travel restrictions have been extended in this province. It has been said on Thursday that trains and buses coming from outside in this area of 22 million people have been stopped. Also, the number of passengers coming by flight has been reduced to 75 percent.

According to the news agency AP, the National Health Commission had announced only 93 cases in Xinjiang on Wednesday and 97 on Thursday. All of them are asymptomatic. Xinjiang’s leaders on Tuesday acknowledged problems with the detection and control measures of coronavirus patients. But did not say anything about the plan to lift the restrictions.

The officials are wishing that no new cases of corona come into their areas. On the other hand, Xinjiang city’s massive surveillance system relies on facial and even voice recognition software, with police posts everywhere. This cell phone surveillance has made it particularly easy to control travel.

Last month, 27 people were killed in a bus accident. People were being taken by bus to South-West China Quarantine. After the accident, a storm of anger erupted in China over the rigor of the ‘Zero Covid Policy’. The survivors of the accident said that they were forced to leave their apartments even though not a single case was reported.

Communist Party leader Xi Jinping, the biggest supporter of the ‘Zero Covid Policy’, is expected to become the President once again. Despite the criticism of the WHO and the massive crisis in the economy, education, and normal life in China, the ‘Zero Covid Policy’ continues.
