California: Two women on board were killed when a small plane crashed into an empty house in the hills of northern California. Mary Allen Carlin, a resident of Pacific Grove, was flying the plane when the crash Tuesday and was accompanied by Alice Diane Emig of Rancho Cordova. Amig’s family members gave this information to news station KSBW-TV.
The Federal Aviation Administration said that the two-engine ‘Cessna 421’ aircraft took off from ‘Monterey Regional Airport. Shortly after, he collapsed at a house in a residential area, about eight kilometers from the city. After this, the house caught fire, which spread to the surrounding bushes, but it was brought under control. The plane that crashed belonged to Carlin and she was a professional flight instructor. She was about to take the Emig from Monterrey to Mather.
Relatives of the deceased woman told that no one survived this accident. Although officials have yet to confirm who the pilot was, Carlin’s son David told the Monterey Herald that his mother was flying the plane. Monterey County Sheriff’s Department spokesman John Thornberg said the bodies had not yet been found.
