Karachi: At least 15 people were killed and 50 others were injured when 10 coaches of the Hazara Express from Karachi to Rawalpindi derailed in Pakistan. According to local news channel Geo News, there is a possibility of more people being injured in this horrific train accident near a station located about 275 km from Karachi. The injured passengers have been taken to the nearest hospital.
The administration is carrying out rescue operations and an emergency has been declared in nearby hospitals. Eyewitnesses and the police told that the Hazara Express derailed near Sarhari railway station, located between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah in Sindh province. On the other hand, in local TV footage and videos going viral on social media, a large number of passengers are seen near the derailed bogies, some of whom are lying on their sides.
