Narita Chakraborty appointed as Commissioner in ‘Historic England’

London: Indian-origin architect and design advocate Narita Chakraborty has been appointed as the prestigious commissioner of Historic England. Historic England is the public body overseeing the country’s environment and heritage. Raised in Delhi and studied at the School of Planning and Architecture before moving to the UK, Chakraborty has over 16 years of experience in heritage, architecture, and design.

She is already a member of Historic England’s advisory committee and will begin her new role as the institution’s commissioner for a period of four years from July 1 to June 2026.
