Colombia: An Iraqi man who came to the US two years ago and applied for asylum has called on former President George W. Bush to avenge the death of his compatriots during the Iraq War. had hatched a conspiracy to murder. The government gave this information on Tuesday. According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in Columbus, 52-year-old Shihab Ahmed had also called other Iraqis to the United States via Mexico to help execute the plot and were deported through the same route. During the hearing in court on Tuesday, the federal magistrate judge did not impose any bond on Shihab. The next hearing in the matter will now take place on Friday. Shihab does not need to file a petition. Federal public prosecutor Soumyajit Dutta, appearing for Shihab during the hearing, declined to comment. If convicted, Shihab could face up to 30 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. A message has been sent to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum for comment.
