Imran Khan will remain PM till the appointment of caretaker
Imran Khan was removed from the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan on Sunday after the President dissolved the National Assembly. However, under Article 224 of the Constitution of Pakistan, he can continue as Prime Minister for 15 days until the appointment of a caretaker prime minister, but he will not have the power to take decisions.
However, there is still no clarity on how a caretaker prime minister will be appointed and the leader of the opposition, who has been appointed, is no longer in office after the dissolution of the National Assembly. After the no-confidence motion was rejected, President Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the advice of the former Prime Minister.
