Musk created the next company X.com which merged with PayPal. It was later bought by online payments firm eBay in 2002 for $1.5 billion. After leaving PayPal, Elon Musk started a series of more ambitious companies. He founded SpaceX in 2002. He is now its Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer. In 2004, Musk created the electric car company Tesla, of which he became the president. Musk has citizenship in the US, Canada, and South Africa. Forbes estimates that his current net worth is $266 billion.
