Britain’s big decision to fight Omicron, booking for booster dose of vaccine will start from Monday

London: UK health officials said on Sunday that bookings will begin on Monday for a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for people aged 30 and over across England. He told that this is one of the steps taken to control the Coronavirus Omicron Variant which is spreading rapidly in the country. England’s National Health Service (NHS) said there are 7.5 million people aged 30 to 39 in the country, of whom 3.5 million are eligible for a booster dose from Monday.

This decision has been made after receiving preliminary information about the effectiveness of the booster dose on the Omicron form. Cases of hospitalization of Omicron infected people have also started coming up in the country. No one has died of this form in Britain so far, but experts have warned that the Omicron form may overtake the Delta form in terms of spreading infection by the end of this year.

Britain’s Health Minister Sajid Javed said, “The COVID-19 booster program is being accelerated and 22 million people in the UK have already taken a booster dose and received comprehensive protection before Christmas.”

The government worried about Omicron’s rising cases
It is noteworthy that the cases of Omicron variants of Corona are increasing rapidly in Britain. Britain’s Health Protection Agency (UKSHA) said that if the growth rate and doubling time remain the same, then they can see at least 50 percent of cases of coronavirus in the next two to four weeks of Omicron variants.

UKSHA Chief Medical Consultant Dr. Susan Hopkins said: “There is increasing evidence that Omicron is highly contagious. We will do everything to break the chain of infection and stop the spread of the new form. ,
