Washington: Newly elected US President Joe Biden, newly elected Vice President Kamala Harris, and outgoing President Donald Trump wished the people a happy Diwali on Saturday.
Biden tweeted, “Millions of Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists are celebrating Prakash Parva. My wife Jill Biden and I wish you a happy Diwali. May your new year be full of hopes, joys and prosperity. (New) Happy New Year. ”
Earlier, External Affairs Minister Mike Pompeo also wished the people a happy Diwali. Pompeo, who is traveling to seven countries in Europe and West Asia, said, “Happy Diwali to all who are celebrating the victory of light over darkness. May your feast be full of joy. ”
