Washington: US President Joe Biden has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. This call was about 50 minutes. According to the White House, during this time, Joe Biden has clearly told Putin that America and its allies will give a decisive answer if Russia further attacks Ukraine or does not reduce tensions with Ukraine. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement that Joe Biden spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and during this time appealed to him to reduce tensions with Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden, in talks with Putin, has expressed support for diplomacy, with bilateral strategic stability talks set to begin early next year. He also said that significant progress in these talks can be made only when the tensions between the two countries are reduced. Progress cannot be made in this regard under stress.

US intelligence officials have warned Ukraine that Russia is planning an attack on it by January. There have been talks between Joe Biden and Putin on many issues including Ukraine. During this, both also talked about the strategic dialogue with Russia. On Wednesday itself, American National Security Council spokeswoman Emily Horn had told about this. Talks between the President of America and Russia are proposed in Geneva from January 10. There was a virtual meeting between the two leaders this month, in which the two leaders agreed to appoint envoys to continue talks on security in Europe in the wake of rising tensions on the Ukraine border. Ukraine claims that more than 90 thousand Russian soldiers are deposited on the border. Along with them are armored vehicles and electronic warfare systems, due to which Ukraine and the NATO alliance are worried.
