It was previously decided to relax restrictions for the Christmas program but now Johnson has decided to tighten the restrictions.
Johnson said on Saturday that many areas of the capital and southern England fall under the third category of sanctions, which are fairly strict restrictions. He said that now the fourth phase of sanctions will be implemented, further tightening them.
The Prime Minister said, “It seems that the infection is spreading very fast due to the new type of corona virus.” Under the fourth phase, people will be prohibited from meeting any other person outside their home. This prohibition will also be applicable during Christmas.
In addition, in areas where mild restrictions are in place, only three families will be allowed to gather during Christmas on December 25. However, this discount will no longer be for five days.
