Indore: Indore Police have solved a complex “blind murder” case, initially reported as a fatal road accident on August 14. Additional DCP Amarendra Singh confirmed on Thursday that a detailed investigation exposed a premeditated murder conspiracy, leading to the arrest of five individuals, including the victim’s husband and his second wife.

The case began when the death of Rani Songira in the Kanada police station area was logged as a road accident. However, standard procedure, including a post-mortem, uncovered the grim truth: Rani had been shot in the head. This discovery turned the accident investigation into a high-priority murder probe.

Unraveling the Conspiracy

According to Additional DCP Singh, solving the case was a significant challenge. Police teams relied on extensive technical analysis and painstakingly reviewed CCTV footage from the area to piece together the events of that day.

The investigation revealed a sinister plot rooted in marital discord. The victim, Rani, was married to Ishwar, who had also married another woman, Toshika. The ongoing disputes between Rani, Ishwar, and Toshika allegedly led Ishwar and Toshika to conspire to have Rani permanently eliminated.

A Hired Gun and a Failed Cover-Up

The police investigation found that the couple hired Muzaffar, a resident of the Khajrana area, to carry out the murder in exchange for money. Muzaffar, along with accomplices Aman and Mohammad Samad, executed the plan.

To conceal the crime, the perpetrators meticulously planned to stage the murder as a road accident. The accused wore helmets during the attack to hide their identities from potential eyewitnesses and CCTV cameras. However, the post-mortem results foiled their cover-up attempt.

“The accused made a complete plan to show the murder as an accident,” stated Additional DCP Singh. “The main reason for the dispute was Toshika… Due to this, Ishwar and Toshika conspired to kill Rani.”

All five accused have been arrested, and the police have seized the murder weapon, ammunition, and vehicles used in the crime. The investigation is still ongoing to uncover any further details or accomplices involved in the plot.
