Indore: Indore city, which became number 1 in cleanliness and smart city in the country, has made a new identity with a carbon credit. To save the environment, an initiative has been taken to reduce the amount of carbon in Indore. Under the Smart City Project, 1,69,506 tonnes of carbon credits have been sold in the international market by the Corporation to Berlin-based GOTU Market Company. Due to this, the smart city earned an income of Rs 8 crore 34 lakh.
It is worth noting that last year also, Smart City earned Rs 69 lakh by selling one lakh 70 thousand carbon credits earned till June 2019 in the international market. This is the second time that Indore Smart City has earned more than 80 million rupees by selling carbon credits in the international market.
Indore is the first city in the country to earn from carbon credits

According to Smart City CEO Rishab Gupta, the work of earning carbon credits was done by Indore Smart City through various projects in the city to protect the environment. Now by bringing business aggregator model, it will bring business aggregator model to other institutions in the country. Through smart cities, such institutions will be told how to earn carbon credits. Indore Smart City is working on this model.
