Indore: After a long gap in the Hindu community, matrimonial deadlines are going to start from the week commencing on Monday. But due to the deadly outbreak of the epidemic, the administration here has currently refused to approve the wedding ceremonies. As a result, hundreds of marriages have been postponed and people’s plans for “band-Baja-baaraat” have been shelved. District Magistrate Manish Singh told on Sunday, “We cannot allow wedding ceremonies in the district right now in view of the outbreak of Covid-19”. We are concerned about the health of common people. ”

Significantly, in view of the high infection rate of the epidemic, the administration decided on Saturday that the corona curfew (partial lockdown) continued from April 12 in the urban areas of Indore will remain intact till April 26. Meanwhile, President of Indore Hoteliers Association Sumit Suri said, “In April and May, about 1,500 weddings were booked in local hotels and matrimonial halls. But due to the outbreak of the epidemic, people have canceled most of the bookings. ” He quoted a rough estimate that postponing these marriages would cause a loss of at least Rs 200 crore to the local hotel industry.

Significantly, Indore is the most affected district of Covid-19 in the state, where there is a shortage of Remedesivir medicine and medical oxygen, especially in the wake of the deadly outbreak of the second wave of epidemic. Along with this, patients are having to work hard to get an extra bed in hospitals. A health department official said that a total of 89,317 pandemic patients have been found in Indore district since March 24, 2020. Of these, 1,047 people have died during treatment.
