In a separate incident, the Indian Coast Guard thwarted an attempt by the Pakistani Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) to capture seven Indian fishermen near the India-Pakistan maritime boundary. The fishermen, aboard the Indian fishing boat Kal Bhairav, issued a distress call to the Indian Coast Guard ship ICG Agrani on November 17, 2024, at 3:30 PM.
The fishing vessel had strayed into a no-fishing zone when it was intercepted by the Pakistani ship PMS Nusrat, which attempted to detain the fishermen and take them to Pakistan. Responding promptly, the ICG Agrani raced to the scene, intercepting the Pakistani vessel and ensuring the safe rescue of all seven fishermen.
