New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Ukraine, which was badly hit by Russia’s military operation, on Wednesday advised its citizens, including students, to leave Kharkiv immediately, keeping in mind their own safety and security, and reach Pesochin, at the earliest. Babaye and Bezlyudovka arrive.

“Under all circumstances, they should reach these places by 6 o’clock in Ukraine time today,” the Indian embassy tweeted. The embassy said that it is an important advisory for all Indians in Kharkiv, keeping in mind their own safety and security, to leave Kharkiv immediately and reach Pesochin, Babaye, and Bezlyudovka at the earliest.

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine has given this advisory at a time when the situation in this Eastern European country has worsened due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine. There are reports of intensifying attacks, especially on Kharkiv. A video of an attack on regional police and intelligence headquarters in Ukraine’s second-largest city Kharkiv is circulating online, showing a building’s roof blown up and its upper floor set on fire.

India has launched an ‘Operation Ganga’ campaign to bring back its citizens stranded in Ukraine. Under this, Indians are being brought home by air from Hungary, Romania, Poland, and Slovakia after leaving Ukraine through land border posts.
