Indian car manufacturer Skoda Auto Volkswagen will export 3,000 ‘Vertus’ cars to Mexico

New Delhi: Vehicle manufacturer Skoda Auto Volkswagen has started exporting its mid-size sedan ‘Vertus’ from India. The vehicle company gave this information on Monday and said that with this it has expanded its portfolio of vehicles exported from India. According to the company, more than 3,000 vehicles are being shipped from India to Mexico in the first phase of exports.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited manages the Indian operations of 5 Volkswagen Group brands – Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The sedan is a part of the brand’s Bharat 2.0 campaign and is being manufactured at the group’s plant in Chakan in Maharashtra.

Car export company from India
Skoda Auto Volkswagen started exports from India in the year 2011 and was the first to export 6,256 units of the made-in-India Vento for the South African market. The company has exported more than 550,000 cars from India to several markets till June 2022, with Mexico being the largest market. The group exports cars to 44 countries in South America, Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, Gulf countries, and the Caribbean region.

Volkswagen India launched the Vertus in India in June this year. Its initial price was kept at Rs 11.21 lakh. Its price goes up to Rs 17.91 lakh for the top-spec performance-line variant. The Vertus is offered in four trims – Comfortline, Highline, Top Line, and GT. The Volkswagen Vertus is offered a choice of two engines. It has the first 115PS 1-litre and the second 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Talking about the features of the Vertus, it will get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, 8-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, single-pane sunroof, connected car tech, digital driver display, cruise control, and steering. – Mounted audio control system.
