Washington: Indian-American technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has announced his intention to run for the party’s presidential nomination in 2024. With this, he has become the second Indian-American leader after Nikki Haley to run for the Republican Party’s nomination.
Ramaswamy (37)’s parents immigrated from Kerala and settled in the US. He worked at a power plant in Ohio. Ramaswamy told ‘Fox News’ But announced his inclusion in the race during a live interview on Tucker Carlson’s prime time show.
He has become the second Indian-American to stake a claim for the Republican Party nomination. Earlier this month, Haley, a two-time governor of Southern California, launched a campaign to become the party’s presidential candidate. She has also been the US Ambassador to the United Nations.
