New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry on Saturday said that the total number of doses of the Covid-19 vaccine given so far in the country has increased to more than 21 crores. The ministry said 14,15,190 people aged 18–44 years were given the first dose on Saturday and 9,075 people in the same group were given the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The ministry said that a total of 1,82,25,509 people have been given the first dose since the beginning of the third phase of the vaccination campaign. It said that in Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, the first dose of vaccine has been given to more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years.
The ministry said that as per the provisional report at 7 pm, a total of 21,18,39,768 doses have been administered in the country. A total of 21,18,39,768 includes 98,61,648 health workers (HCWs) who have taken their first dose and 67,71,436 HCWs have taken the second dose. There are 1,55,53,395 Frontline Personnel (FLW) who have received their first dose while 84,87,493 FLW have received the second dose.
There are also 1,82,25,509 and 9,373 people aged 18–44 who received the first dose and the second dose, respectively. Apart from these, 6,53,51,847 and 1,05,17,121 beneficiaries in the age group of 45-60 years have taken the first dose and the second dose respectively, and 5,84,18,226 and 1,86,43,720 people above the age of 60 years. The first dose and the second dose are taken respectively. A total of 28,09,436 doses of the vaccine were given on the 134th day of the vaccination campaign.
