Rudraprayag: The sanctum sanctorum of the world-famous Kedarnath temple located in Uttarakhand has become golden. The walls and ceiling of the sanctum sanctorum are seen in a new form with 550 gold layers. For the last three days, gold plating work was going on in the Kedarnath sanctum, which has now been completed. Its walls and ceilings have been decorated in three days by 19 artisans with 550 layers of gold and given a grand look. Let us tell you that the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has done this work with the help of a donor from Maharashtra.

This work was done under the supervision of ASI officials and was completed on Wednesday. To make the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple gold, first silver was removed. After removing the silver in the presence of the temple committee officials, it was kept safe in the storehouse of the temple. After that copper was used in place of silver. After plating copper on the walls of the sanctum, the measurement was taken and again this copper was taken out and taken back to Maharashtra. Where the gold layer was prepared on the basis of the copper layer.

In Baba Kedarnath, these layers of gold have also been installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the four pillars, and the water around the self-styled Shivling. 19 laborers were engaged in this work. These 550 layers of gold were transported from Gaurikund to Kedarnath by horse mules. Ajayendra Ajay, president of the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee, told that the work of gold installation in the temple was completed. Baba’s sanctum has become golden. He said that the sanctum sanctorum has started looking even grander. Let us tell you that the doors of Baba Kedarnath were closed today i.e. on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, the doors of Gangotri Dham were closed for the winter season.
