Panaji: The brother of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sonali Phogat has filed a formal complaint with the Goa Police, claiming that her sister was murdered by two of her associates. Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka alleged that shortly before her death, Sonali Phogat spoke to her mother, sister, and another relative, and during this time she was upset and had complained against two of her associates.

He claimed that CCTV cameras, laptops, and other important things from his farmhouse in Haryana disappeared after his death. BJP leader Phogat (42) from Hisar in Haryana died in Goa on Tuesday. A police officer had told that it is feared that he died of a heart attack.

Anjuna police had registered a case of unnatural death. Phogat’s family members reached Goa on Tuesday night. Dhaka, in its complaint filed with the Anjuna Police in Goa, claimed that two of Phogat’s associates killed him in Goa. “(After Phogat spoke to his mother), we told him to stay away from him and return to Hisar the next day,” Dhaka told reporters outside Anjuna police station.

He claimed that the police refused to register an FIR against the two persons. “If an FIR is not registered against him, we will not allow the postmortem to be conducted in Goa,” he said. Dhaka said the family members want to undergo a postmortem at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi or AIIMS in Jaipur. “She was the leader of BJP for the last 15 years. We will also appeal to the Prime Minister to help us in getting justice for him.”
