New Delhi: The security forces of India are still on the lookout for the terrorists who carried out a deadly attack on an army patrol in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on December 21, killing four soldiers and injuring three others. The search operation, which began on the same day, has entered its third day on December 23, but no contact has been made with the terrorists so far.

The army and the police suspect that the terrorists are hiding in the dense forests of Rajouri-Poonch, and have not been able to flee from the area. To prevent any communication or coordination among the terrorists, the authorities have suspended mobile and internet services in both districts.

The security forces are also using drones and other aerial surveillance devices to monitor the sky and the ground in the regions of Rajouri and Poonch. The army has intensified its ground search operation, especially in the forest area of Dera Gali in the Rajouri sector of Poonch district, where the army patrolling is continuing.

According to sources, the terrorists had planned the attack and ambushed the army patrol near the Line of Control (LoC) on December 21. The security forces retaliated, but the terrorists managed to escape from the spot. The weapons of the martyred soldiers are also missing, and there is a possibility that the terrorists might have snatched them and run away. The security forces are determined to find and eliminate the terrorists and restore peace and security in the region.
