Islamabad: Now Pakistan has also jumped in the midst of the ongoing debate regarding the Hijab in India. Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have given a statement in the Hijab controversy that started from Udupi, Karnataka. Fawad Chaudhry said, ‘What is happening in Modi’s India is scary. Indian society is rapidly heading towards decline under unstable leadership.

At the same time, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also made rhetoric on the hijab controversy. Qureshi said that depriving Muslim girls of education is a violation of their human rights. He said that the world has to understand that this is a plan to suppress Muslims in India.

What did Fawad Chaudhry say?
Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted, ‘What is happening in Modi’s India is scary. Under the unstable leadership, Indian society is rapidly heading towards its decline. Wearing a hijab like any other dress is also a matter of personal preference. Citizens should be given the right to take their own decisions independently. Allah hu Akbar.

Fawad Chaudhry’s statement has come at a time when Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel laureate born in the same country, has also said that it is wrong to prevent girls from entering schools wearing hijab.

Qureshi said – this is a violation of human rights
Qureshi tweeted, “Depriving Muslim girls of education (in India) is a violation of their human rights. To deprive someone of any such fundamental right and persecute them for wearing the hijab is oppressive. The world must understand that this is part of the Indian government’s plan to suppress Muslims.

Malala gave advice to Indian leaders
Malala, who sits silently in the affairs of Pakistan, has once again expressed her opinion in the matter of India due to her old habit. “It is appalling to stop hijab-wearing girls from entering schools. Women are objected to wearing more or fewer clothes. Indian leaders should stop marginalizing Muslim women. There are many of these people who are trying to create a rift in Indian society.

When and how did the whole controversy start?
The entire controversy over hijab in India started in the state of Karnataka when some girls alleged that they were not allowed to enter college and class because of wearing hijab. Last month, protests against the hijab began at the Government Pre-University Women’s College in Udupi, Karnataka. Six girl students of the college alleged that they were denied entry to the class for wearing the hijab.

After this, students of Ramdurg Mahavidyalaya in Belgaum and educational institutions in Hassan, Chikmagalur, and Shivamogga raised slogans wearing hijabs and saffron shawls. The matter has reached the Karnataka High Court. In their petition, some girl students have sought permission to wear hijab in college.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh added Gajwa-e-Hind angle
A new angle was added to the Karnataka hijab on Tuesday when Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Ghazwa-e-Hind was behind the hijab controversy. He termed it as a conspiracy to disturb communal harmony. To stop the ruckus, the Karnataka government had to direct the closure of schools and colleges for the next three days.
