New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced a revised schedule for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. The examination date has been postponed to June 23, from the initial dates of March 3 and later July 7. This decision was reached after a collaborative meeting between NMC, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), the Directorate General for Health Sciences (DGHS), and the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

Key Dates:

  • Exam Date: June 23
  • Result Declaration: By July 15
  • Counseling Period: August 5 to October 15
  • Academic Session Start: September 16
  • Last Date of Joining: October 21

Examination Format:

The NEET PG 2024 will be conducted in a Computer-Based Testing (CBT) mode and will last for 3 hours and 30 minutes. The test will comprise 200 multiple-choice questions and will be scored out of a total of 800 marks. Scoring will follow this pattern:

  • +4 marks for each correct answer
  • -1 mark for each incorrect answer
  • No negative marking for unanswered questions
  • Marked-for-review responses will be scored based on their correctness
