Mumbai: The trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film Khufiya has been unveiled. The film stars Tabu and Ali Fazal in the lead roles, along with Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi, and others. The film is inspired by the book Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan, who was the former chief of RAW’s Counter Espionage Unit.
The film is a spy thriller that revolves around a covert operation to catch a mole within the agency. Tabu plays a secret operative who is assigned to find out who is leaking sensitive information to the enemy. She suspects Ali Fazal’s character, who works as a clerk in the agency and seems to have a double life. The trailer shows Tabu’s character interrogating and torturing various suspects, while Ali Fazal’s character tries to evade her. The film promises to be a nail-biting game of cat and mouse between the two.
Tabu, who has previously worked with Vishal Bhardwaj in films like Haider and Maqbool, expressed her excitement about collaborating with him again. She said, “I am very happy to work with my favorite director Vishal Bhardwaj once again because this is our third film together after Haider and Maqbool. Vishal’s unique vision and storytelling have always fascinated me. I am looking forward to the audience’s response to Khufiya.” The film will be released on Netflix on October 5.
